The Dreamer Eau de Toilette
In comparison to the rest of the wear, the opening of Dreamer can be a little severe. The tobacco note is evident from the beginning; it is more of an uncured tobacco than a toasted tobacco.
The interaction of the sage, fir, and rose notes with the tobacco accounts for the intensity of the start. It’s pretty green, with a pungent herbal spice and lavender peeping through at times. That rose note combined with the tobacco creates a green-ish sense.
Now, Dreamer does settle down quite rapidly into something far better than you originally receive. Dreamer grows sweeter and more flowery as it dries. Yes, tobacco is still the dominant dog here, and it will be for the foreseeable future.
Rose, carnation, and geranium, on the other hand, appear to flank the tobacco for a truly new heart. This one reminds me of Burberry Brit at times. They don’t smell the identical, yet they share many notes and have a similar mood. Just Brit smells more like a powdered perfume.
The rose gradually transitions from a greener scent to the flowery tone that we’re all familiar with. A nice blend of herbal, woody, and floral notes. Dreamer is a very one-of-a-kind scent, especially for a mainstream designer.
This Versace fragrance has a drier, woody undertone. There is a strong cedar, fir, and vetiver aroma. Finally, Dreamer is tobacco with a heavy dose of lavender (and tonka bean) and floral/herbal notes.

Projection wise, the sillage on this one starts out moderate, but turns lighter in short order. Dreamer isn’t very good at all, in hotter weather, so try to avoid that. It can be worn casually, at work, or even out for an evening.

Versace L’Homme is a stunning male scent that is warm, woody, and fragrant. It’s a typical 1980s barbershop aroma that’s still extremely wearable and capable of eliciting praise today.
The beginning is fantastic, with strong wood and moss components mixed with patchouli and labdanum which bring it all together and add warmth.
The opening has a soapy accord that gives it a really clean sense. As Versace L’Homme dries off, the soapiness fades and is replaced by a more leathery aroma with some beautiful herbal notes. It has a fresh scent, with citrus and leather notes. However, patchouli and other dry earthy ingredients enter and somewhat muddy things up.
I’m a very new user of Versace L’Homme, and I wish I’d discovered it years ago. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite smells in this category.

Very pleasant, long lasting, nice sillage, and fantastic value. Versace L’Homme is a reasonably diverse fragrance that would make an excellent trademark smell for a guy over the age of 50. Younger men in their 30s and 40s can also get away with it on occasions when they want something macho and elegant; something different from the customary sweet vanilla smells that are so prevalent nowadays. Versace L’Homme is a fantastic chypre that I’m glad I added to my collection.

What I notice right off the bat with this fragrance is that it has such a fresh and citrus-based opening note. This really grabs one’s attention and draws you in for more. It’s always a good sign that a cologne has a fresh opening note and doesn’t require 20 minutes of wear before it even begins to get fragrant.
No worries with Versace Man. Lemon, bergamot, and carambola (starfruit) lead the way. This smell is great, very bright, and utterly captivating. I really dig the opening.
Here in the opening, the lemon is the star, with everything else playing a supporting role. The next striking thing about this cologne is how much it smells like a summertime fragrance. It’s warm, clean, confident, with a bit of elegance sprinkled in. Plus, its projection actually gets better with some heat, unlike all too many fragrances that wither in the warmer months. While I find this feature to be a positive, one could argue that this narrow usage acts as a strike against it. Unless you are looking for an all-weather and everyday scent, this Versace cologne is not for you.
However, depending on the climate where you live, you could get 3-6 months use out of it. The citrus becomes less pronounced after about 45 minutes or so. Some spicy notes begin to emerge, which add a layer of energy to this fragrance. This brings the intensity up a notch. The spice is pretty herbal in its feel. You have sage, tarragon, and cardamom, among other notes.
The base notes really help to bring out the personality and sexiness of this scent. At times, it really begins to remind me a lot of Light Blue, but I think I prefer this Versace (but Light Blue Eau Intense is better than both). More about the style than the exact smell of the fragrance.
Versace Man Eau Fraiche has decent projection, which as I said, gets better with a little bit of heat. This doesn’t need to be too loud, but it projects itself well when compared to other summer scents. It’s not a marathon runner in terms of how long it lasts on your skin.

Versace eau de toilette begins with a zesty Italian lemon note, followed by a crisp juicy green apple and the cold spice of mint leaves. Eros is young, energetic, and has a strong masculine presence.
What’s always intrigued me is how there’s a subtle chocolate undertone that lingers throughout the wear, but especially in the first few minutes. I’m sure I’m not the only one who notices this, but I think it’s the interaction of the dry vetiver, vanilla (among other sweet notes), and tonka bean.
It has the same effect (chocolate aroma without the substance) as Dior Homme Intense, yet they are very distinct smells.
Eros is a perfume with a distinct spice to its projection. But not a spicy or overpowering spice. Because mint oil is a dominant note in Eros‘ presentation, it probably gives it the greatest sensation of spiciness.
It’s a combination led by mint, vanilla, and tonka bean, with the latter two notes contributing to the highly rich warmth and ‘sweet’ flavor that this cologne becomes known for. This is balanced with the cool sharpness of mint (and apple to some extent).
Some people find this perfume overly sweet for their tastes, and although I agree that it may be too sweet at times, I also find it extremely agreeable to wear.
I believe there are far sweeter or candy-like smells available, and Eros is balanced off by the other elements. Once the fruit top notes fade into the background, it sort of tones down.
Eros becomes an encompassing aroma later in the drydown phase. It’s like a warm, wonderful gourmet cloud. The ambroxan amber and a faint floral note (geranium) emerge to complement the primary triad of notes.
It exudes a smooth, creamy, and deliciously seductive perfume, with the vanilla note at its pinnacle. Ambroxan appears to be utilized in almost every new release these days. Between this and Dior’s Sauvage, I believe designers felt compelled to release as many knockoff smells as possible.
Then we arrive to the base, which is always there but most noticeable a few hours after application. The core of the scent is dry woods and earthy fragrances.
The base mostly reminds me of the dual combination of cedarwood notes (Atlas and Virginia), which are common in men’s scents. This is what gives Eros its tenacity and powerful virile personality. With the addition of oak moss and the aforementioned vetiver, this smell is well balanced.
